Agricultural machinery is represented by such a huge range that manufacturers at factories offer several models of a certain brand with excellent technical characteristics. In the Belarusian city of Gomel there is a plant that produces Polesie grain harvesters. For more than 20 years, this equipment has been helping farmers in the fields and is considered one of the best in its class. The main models of Polesie combines are considered to be “Polesie KZS-1218” and “Polesie KZS 812”.
We also note that the manufacturer’s range is represented by several other models, including the GS05, GS10, GS14 and GS16 combines. The entire line of the manufacturer is distinguished by incredible characteristics; the combines are, first of all, economical, have high-quality threshing and quickly harvest the fields. The technical data of the combine allows it to be classified as class 4, so the equipment is capable of coping with various tasks of harvesting in the fields. It works great with a yield of 40 c/ha, where it shows good efficiency and fuel consumption. Grain collection shows excellent results, and for non-grain products there are two possible solutions - crushing and further spreading or placing straw in special windrows. Technical characteristics of Polesie 812
A 210-230 horsepower engine allowed the model to provide excellent endurance. The specified throughput rate is 8 kg/s, the threshing system is presented with 1 drum and a straw walker with 4 keys. A thresher with a width of 1,200 mm is installed, which will be an ideal solution for use in agriculture with an average yield level. All characteristics make it possible to position the combine harvester as an affordable and economical technique.
With proper operation, operation in optimal humidity and sufficient straw content, the combine is capable of producing 12 tons of grain in 1 hour of operation. For better performance, the manufacturer equipped the equipment with a 5.5 cm cubic hopper. An important indicator will be the grip of the header; in Polesie 812 this indicator is 5, 6 or 7 mm.
A special electric mechanism control is installed in the cabin, which will help regulate the concave clearance. This ensures correct threshing with maximum efficiency. Belonging to middle-class equipment, this model is equipped with a 3-cascade cleaning system. This provided a total sieve area of 4 sq.m. The capacity of the fuel tank is interesting; its capacity was 500 liters. The tank is created from polymers that are far superior to plastic versions and metal tanks that are susceptible to corrosion.
To use the combine in too wet soil, the Belarusian plant offers to equip the equipment with caterpillar tracks or twin wheels. Tracked modifications are quite interesting and show good efficiency in certain fields. Today, the price for a Polesie combine harvester starts at 3,700,000 rubles; a used model in good condition can be found at a price of 1.5 million rubles.

This model is improved and slightly superior to the Polesie 812 combine. This also confirms the attitude to class 6 and the presence of better performance. The manufacturer equips the equipment with a threshing and separating device with a stated width of 1.5 m. The device used allows it to be considered a universal assistant for various conditions and fields. The main productivity indicator is 18 tons of harvested crop per 1 hour of work. Moreover, the interesting thing is that the combine will harvest 18 tons, regardless of the condition of the grain or the condition of the field. All parts and structural parts are created according to international standards and therefore this is one of the best modern assistants in the grain production.
Characteristics of the Polesie 1218 combine
The equipment operates thanks to a diesel engine with a capacity of 330 horsepower; Polesie combines are also equipped with other engine modifications. Unlike the 812 model, the combine received an improved threshing scheme with 2 drums, as well as a modified cleaning system. It is impossible not to note the large area of the separator and the accelerator system for feeding the threshed mass.
The main features of the model include:
- presence of a grain picker;
- modified soybean header system;
- grain headers with increased working width - 6, 8 or 9 m;
- special equipment for harvesting rapeseed and sunflower;
If desired, the equipment can be replenished with a special corn header. It is the large set of accessories, both in the main and in the additional kit, that gives excellent demand for the Polesie 1218 model. With a sufficiently powerful engine, it was necessary to take care of a sufficient fuel tank, so its capacity was 600 liters. In the standard version without a transport trolley, the combine harvester weighs 16.6 tons.
Driver's cabin
Modern technologies have also reached the operator’s cabin, for example, there is a large panoramic glass in front with an ideal viewing angle. Inside the cabin is quite spacious and has an area of about 2.6 meters. This allows not only the operator, but also his assistant to be located in the combine.
The control of technology is interesting - it is carried out by a modern computer. The data is displayed on a large display; additionally, secondary displays that are installed on the instrument panel help display fixed data. To ensure that electronics and computers work stably, the cabin is protected and does not allow dust to enter.
Bunker Polesie 1218
The presented model is ideal for large harvests, which can be easily handled. A grain bin with a large volume of 8 cubic meters also helps to ensure this. The manufacturer decided to use such a volume not by chance, because Kamaz vehicles with a capacity of 16 cubic meters typically pick up grain. That is, 2 filled bunkers will be enough to fully load the Kamaz without wasting time on idle equipment.
Combine Harvester Polesie 1420 (GS14)
One of the latest and most powerful models, which was produced not so long ago, but has an engine with a power of as much as 400 hp. Polissya 1420 is positioned as a high-performance equipment for harvesting large grain harvests. It is also ideal for other threshed crops and is therefore widely used on farms throughout Europe.
The GS14 model has a number of distinctive advantages:
- many different headers, both in basic and additional configurations;
- threshing using a two-drum circuit;
- six-key straw walker with an area of 7.5 m2 for separating the remaining grain;
- modern comfortable cabin with computer control;
- width of the threshing apparatus 1,700 mm;

A high level of automation of the processes performed makes it possible to eliminate combiner errors and ensure stable operation of the combine under changing harvesting conditions. The spacious cabin of the new unified range provides all conditions for the combine operator to work without stress and fatigue during a long shift.
The repeatedly proven double-drum threshing scheme with acceleration of the flow of grain mass before feeding it to the threshing drum also proves its advantages in the PALESSE GS16 combine. “Combing” the mass with the teeth of the accelerator drum makes its flow absolutely uniform. Combined with high speed, this ensures not only fast and gentle threshing, but also creates conditions for high efficiency of all subsequent processes. |
Conditions for effective rotary separation are created already at the stage of feeding the mass from the threshing apparatus: a specially designed beater divides the mass into two streams and evenly supplies it to both rotors of the straw separator. “Wrapped” by decks, they rotate in counter directions. When the mass moves at high speed in a spiral between the rotors and stationary decks, a large centrifugal force acts on it, which ensures the rapid release of residual grain. This is one of the most important factors determining the high productivity of the combine. First onto the pitched board, along it to the shaking board and only then onto the well-ventilated cleaning cascades. This path of the cleaned grain mass from the rotors to the sieve frame avoids congestion and reduces the load on the cleaning system. |
In the cleaning system, the air flow is directed through two separate channels: the upper flow blows through the difference between the shaker board and the upper sieve, already at this stage removing a significant part of the light fractions. The bottom flow is evenly distributed between the sieves, completing the grain cleaning. The intensity of the air flow and the opening of the cleaning blinds are adjusted from the cabin. |

The remote control and the speed control handle are connected to the operator's seat, are height-adjustable along with the seat and are always in an equally accessible, convenient position for the operator. The System Control information and control system based on an on-board computer combines the functions of information support, registration, statistics, management and control. The computer finds the optimal ratio of adjustments depending on the crop being harvested, its yield, humidity and weediness. The terminal provides an interactive dialogue between the operator and the BIUS, giving him the ability to monitor and control the working parts of the combine, engine, transmission, the progress of work and service operations, and monitor the condition of the combine systems. From the terminal screen, the operator also receives statistical data on the progress of cleaning, as well as information about possible emergency situations.
The modern feeder chamber is distinguished by its reliability, stable, high-quality supply of grain mass, and ensures high productivity and threshing quality. In dry, hot weather, the header is sometimes completely hidden from the combiner’s field of vision behind a dense curtain of dust. This problem can be solved by a dust suction system installed in the feeder chamber of the combine from the operating header. |
Reversing the feeder conveyor is an indispensable operation, especially in difficult harvesting conditions. The use of a hydraulic motor in the feeder chamber design makes it possible to steplessly reverse the conveyor, saving time. |
CONFIDENT START As with all PALESSE combines, the header of the PALESSE GS16 combine with a 9.2 m gripper is equipped with a vertical planetary gearbox in the drive and a cutting system. The results of using these systems are widely known: fingers with two cutting edges are durable, the drive of the knives is perfectly straight. At the same time, grain losses are reduced, the combine operates at high speed, the cut is low and even, the header operates quietly and without vibration. |
The electro-hydraulic system for copying the field topography with the header "Autocontour" ensures in a fully automatic mode the maintenance of the specified cutting height, pressure on the soil and the position of the header relative to the soil in both longitudinal and transverse directions. | |
The signals that come from the copying arcs located under the header are continuously compared with the set values.
