Combine harvester ACROS 550

The manufacturer of agricultural implements Rostselmash is a leader among domestic manufacturers. The long-term history of the brand has experienced many ups and downs; in the 2000s the company received a restart, which became a new stage of development; this period marked the beginning of modernization and diversification of production. It is worth noting that the enterprise also included foreign assets, and Akros grain harvesters are very popular in many countries around the world. The company carries out a full production cycle, including design development of equipment. The plant performs foundry, metal cutting, machining, welding, painting and assembly stages.

Harvester Acros 530

Akros models are designed for cleaning large areas with high-yielding crops. All activities are carried out as quickly as possible, without downtime. Using an Akros combine, you can effectively harvest over a thousand hectares of both row crops and grain crops. The Acros 530 grain harvester as standard consists of a header and feeder chamber, a platform for transporting the header and a specialized pick-up platform, as well as threshing equipment and a chopper, an operator's workplace and various electrical and hydraulic equipment.

The presented combine harvester PCM142 Acros530 is designed with a comfortable, fairly spacious cabin, equipped with practical springs for maximum comfort. A chair with adjustable settings has been created for the operator. It is worth noting that climate control has been introduced into it.

Equipment characteristics

  • The total weight, including the chopper and header, is fifteen tons.
  • The wheelbase width is 4 meters 28 centimeters.
  • In the lowest zone, under the auger, the ground clearance is 35 centimeters.
  • The maximum track width of the driving wheels is three meters and twelve centimeters.
  • The turning radius can be 8.9 meters.

The Akros 530 combine harvester, whose technical characteristics are optimal for various terrains, can reach fairly high speeds even on surfaces characterized by a significant slope. If movement is difficult due to bad weather and viscous soil, the recommended speed is no higher than five kilometers per hour. In standard mode, the unit operates at a speed of twelve kilometers per hour.

Model features

  • The Acros 530 combine is equipped with a header suspended frontally relative to the feeder chamber using hinges. In addition, an auger and a balancing mechanism are provided. The operator can use the automatic circuit to install up to eighteen centimeters. If you need to make it higher, two hydraulic cylinders are used, with a maximum level of ninety centimeters.

Operating experience of "Acros-530": advantages and disadvantages

The peasants of Russia and other republics of the former Soviet Union highly appreciated the first of the Rostselmashev family “Akros”. First of all, in terms of the economic efficiency of its use. Acros-530 consumes much less fuel per ton of grain produced than any previous generation domestic combine. And this despite the fact that in terms of productivity it replaces two such combines at once.

"AKROS 530" in the field.

At Agrariy OJSC (Ryazan region, Sasovsky district), peasants were able to compare the Acros-530 with its closest competitor on the market - the Gomselmash combine harvester Polesie KZS-1218: in 2008, to replace the old Nivas, they purchased one Rostov and one Belarusian combine harvester. Based on the results of the 2009 harvest,

  • Seasonal threshing amounted to: at Akros - 1639 tons; at Polesie - 1388 tons.
  • Seasonal fuel consumption: “Acros-530” – 8050 tons; "Polesie KZS-1218" - 8330 tons.
  • Average fuel consumption, liters per ton: on Akros - 4.9 l/t; at Polesie – 6 l/t.

Among the shortcomings, the low quality of domestically produced bearings and drive belts that are equipped with the Acros-530 combine is noted. Bearings often do not withstand even one year of operation and fall apart. They are advised to replace them with imported ones.

Also, a lot of ridicule, and sometimes justified sharp criticism, is caused by “Americanisms” in the names of the components and systems of the combine: “Comfort Cab”, “Power Stream”, “Smart Launch”, “Adviser”, etc. After all, this is, by and large, equipment for the domestic market. And the countries to which it is exported are far from English-speaking: the former republics of the USSR. So why all this circus with “pseudo-imported” names, and why is the name of the combine even written in English letters?

Combine harvester Akros 550

The productive grain harvester Akros 550 is used for harvesting wheat, and can be adapted for rapeseed, corn, sunflower and cereal crops. The equipment is no different from imported models, as you can see in the photo of the Akros 550 combine.

How the Akros 550 combine works

  • When developing this model, the company's engineers provided the ability to control almost all systems directly from the operator's cabin, which is equipped with climate control and protected from excess noise and vibration.
  • There are many auxiliary devices, among which are halogen headlights for working at night.
  • One of the most important components that distinguishes the Acros 550 combine from other brands is the PowerStream header, the effective operation of which is complemented by a grain cleaning and threshing system.
  • The hydraulic drive connector is universal, you can choose a model with a grip of 6.7 or 9 meters.
  • The bunker capacity is nine thousand liters, but despite this, the unit is equipped with a high-performance elevator, which is designed for shipping purified grain.

The high productivity of the equipment is ensured by a threshing system with a large drum with a diameter of 80 centimeters. This will allow you to easily process even wet raw materials.

Main nodes

Power point

The “heart” of the combine is the power plant. In the case of the Akros 530, the manufacturers equipped the equipment with a six-cylinder YaMZ diesel unit. The power of this engine is 255 hp. With. Subsequently, the domestic power plant was replaced by a six-cylinder Gummins diesel, with an in-line cylinder arrangement and turbocharged fuel supply. The power of this unit varies between 280-30 liters. With. Considering that the fuel tank capacity is 540 liters, the combine can operate for 14-16 hours without refueling. Please note that the engine cooling system automatically turns on additional fans when the unit temperature approaches a critical level.

Transmission

The Akros 530 combine uses a hydrostatic transmission circuit. This allows you to continuously adjust the speed mode, ensuring that work of any complexity can be completed. Unlike mechanical analogues, a hydrostatic transmission eliminates friction between parts, which has a positive effect on the durability of the unit. It should be noted that the kinematic transmission is evenly distributed. No more than two power consumers are allocated to each shaft, excluding the intersection of power circuits. V-belt drives are individually adjusted, which ensures precise adjustment of the equipment.

Hydraulics

The hydraulic system includes several pumping stations that create independent, uninterrupted operation of the main components. From a common tank, hydraulic fluid is supplied to the steering column, attachments, and transmission.

Reaper

The POWER STREAM header is used as a working tool, which replaced the technically outdated ZH design. The Akros combine harvester is equipped with two unified headers, with a coverage width of 6.7 and 9 meters. This is a lightweight structure that follows the topography of the field. Accordingly, it is possible to harvest grain crops in fields with complex geometry with minimal losses. It uses a planetary drive complemented by a double cutting edge. The header can operate in two modes. The Autocontour system allows you to harvest ears with a height of 6 to 18 centimeters. Using two hydraulic cylinders, you can adjust the combine to a cutting height above 18 cm. The maximum possible cut of the POWER STREAM header is 90 cm.

Control system

"Akros" 530 is equipped with a two-seater cabin located on four shock absorbers. This allows you to reduce vibration levels during operation. In addition, the workplace is equipped with a reliable sound insulation system, which allows you to work for a long time in relatively comfortable conditions. The controls for the working elements of the combine are at the operator’s fingertips. ADVISER monitors the cleaning process. This is an on-board computer with an automated control system over the main components and electrical circuits. Information about faults is displayed on the display, which allows you to fix the problem as soon as possible. The combine cabin is equipped with external halogen lighting, which allows harvesting work to be carried out at night.

It is worth noting that thanks to their well-thought-out design and high performance, Akros 530 combine harvesters are one of the most popular models on the domestic market.

Harvester Akros560

If you are looking for the optimal solution for a large agricultural enterprise, pay attention to the Acros 560 combine, designed for large, high-yielding areas. How Akros-580 works. Features of the combine.

The Acros-580 combine mows the ears with knives with a double cutting edge, equipped with a planetary drive with a cutting frequency of 1140 strokes per minute. The working mass of the grain crop is fed by a reel with a hydraulic drive, which regulates its rotation speed to ensure uniform feeding. In difficult areas, laying crops are captured by the long tines of the rake, allowing the auger to easily transport them for threshing.

The drum’s increased diameter and the concave’s wrap angle increased to 130 degrees create an almost ideal threshing geometry and the most complete grain separation. The harvest is fed to the threshing drum by a feeder conveyor to separate the grains. Together with small fractions, they are removed to the transport board and separator. They pass through the deck grate for airflow and transportation through an auger into the grain bin. The spent ears on the stalks are removed after the straw walker, and the free grain and particles of the ears, having passed a loss control sensor and a rotary threshing device, are fed into the bunker.

The special feature of Akros-580 is its new (extended) beater-free inclined chamber, which provides a better overview of the cutting device and simplifies the procedure for re-equipping for harvesting row crops. The increased load capacity of the unit to three tons gave the agricultural machine new opportunities to work with wide-cut adapters (for example, with a conveyor header), which is an important factor in increasing the productivity of the combine in fields with low yields.

By the way, “Acros-580” is equipped with a single hydraulic connector, which allows you to significantly reduce the time spent on connection. The entire hydraulic network of the combine is reliably protected from the penetration of dirt and dust from the outside.

Solid throughput, careful handling of straw, minimal percentage of grain damage are successfully combined with the low energy intensity of the threshing and separating device. This is achieved, among other things, through the use of a qualitatively new pre-threshing device.

Unloading the Akros-580 bunker.

Unlike agricultural machines, in which unthreshed ears are returned to the drum, in Akros-580 they enter an autonomous type of finishing device. They are served by a three-blade rotor. The result is a softer and higher-quality threshing with a low degree of grain crushing. And the drum is never overloaded! In this case, the grain obtained from repeated grinding is evenly distributed over the entire width of the shaking board, completing the full cleaning cycle without the risk of overloading the sieve.

Next, the clean grain enters a spacious bunker with a volume of 9 thousand liters. In the old days, at least five percent of a machine operator’s shift was spent unloading grain from a bunker into the back of a vehicle. With the Acros-580, this large hopper is completely emptied in just two minutes! Accordingly, you can work longer directly on cleaning. The new engine of this combine serves the same purpose: 14 hours of continuous operation without the need to refuel!

Engine of the Akros-580 combine

Unlike its predecessor, the Akros-530, the “heart” of which was the YaMZ engine, the Acros-580 is equipped with Cummins diesel engines .

Brand: Cummins-6LTAA. This is a V-shaped six-cylinder four-stroke turbocharged liquid-cooled diesel engine with a volume of 8.9 liters and a power of 300 horsepower (221 kW).

Compared to the YaMZ/236BK engine (on the Acros-530), the Cummins engine is noticeably - fifteen percent - more economical.

We recommend reading: Terex 860 SX: technical specifications

Its distinctive feature is also its torque in the range from 1000 to 1600 rpm. The Cummins-6LTAA engine has at least 20% power reserve. Efficient operation of the turbine simultaneously increases engine power and reduces the amount of fuel consumed. This is a modern engine from the company, a world leader in the production of diesel engines. Cummins is headquartered in the United States; The main production is in China. Licensed Cummins engines are also made in our country.

The engine compartment is located at the rear. This had a positive effect not only on protecting the operator’s workplace from noise and vibration. This arrangement provides easy access to the main systems and components for more convenient service. The engine is protected from overheating by powerful air compressors with automatically cleaned filters.

Transmission and chassis

The transmission on the Acros-580 is hydrostatic type. The gearbox is three-speed. Across the field, while harvesting, the combine moves at a speed of 10-15 km/h; during transportation – up to 30 km/h.

The steering is complemented by symmetrical automatic control, creating the necessary balance between the wheels. This allows you to control the operating parameters of the system. If each of them is rejected, the voice warning system is activated. The steering wheel can be adjusted to suit the height of the operator of any height. Drive wheel tire type: 30.5L /R32; steered wheels: 18.4/ R24.

Hydraulic system

Hydraulics on Akros-580 combines are made in Germany; consists of several interconnected highly specialized modules: main, steering, reel drive and chassis drive. The operation of all modules is ensured by a single tank and a powerful, efficient hydraulic pump.

History of the creation of the AKROS 530 combine harvester

is one of the few domestic manufacturers of agricultural machinery that, after a crushing blow during the collapse of the Soviet Union, not only survived, but was also able to continue its systematic development. First of all, to establish the production of new models of competitive equipment that meet modern requirements and economic realities.

One of these models was the “Acros-530” (project name “RSM-142”) - a representative of a new generation of high-performance grain harvesters, focused on the needs of large peasant farms with large areas of high-yielding fields.

On May 16, 2007, the first combines of this brand came off the assembly line, in the presence of the governor and other leaders of the region, solemnly consecrated and blessed by the Archbishop of Rostov and Novocherkassk Panteleimon. The first recipient of Akros, director of the Voskhod agricultural production company from the Krasnodar Territory, Nikolai Bukreev, did not hide his joy at the purchase.

In June 2007, after personal acquaintance with the Acros-530, V.V. Putin uttered a famous saying: “Such combines are no less important for Russia than missiles.” And three months later, harvester number 100 already left the factory gates. In the fall of the same year, the Acros-530 completely replaced its predecessor, the Don-1500, on the assembly line.

Vladimir Putin about the AKROS 530 combine: “I’ll be brief!” Below is Sergei Ivanov.

These solemn moments were preceded by three years of development, approvals, and testing of the new model. The chief engineer of the Acros-530 project, Vladimir Kulikov, noted that in creating this model, he and his colleagues relied both on the experience of developing and manufacturing the Don-1500 combine, and on advanced foreign analogues, in particular, the German one.

This was a truly large-scale project, in which Rostselmash invested more than 800 million rubles. During the development process, 11 new production sites were created and more than 60 units of modern high-performance equipment were purchased. Including laser cutting and bending complexes, semi-automatic welding machines, milling and lathes, hydraulic and eccentric presses and other modern equipment from world manufacturers. 26 experimental pre-production equipment underwent serious testing in different climatic zones of Russia.

“Acros-530” became the “first sign” of the company’s new model range. A qualitatively new family of combines aimed at increasing shift productivity and reducing the cost of bunker grain. And also providing the machine operator with unprecedentedly comfortable (for domestic equipment) working conditions.
