Purpose of the machine
John Deere 8430 is a universal-purpose wheeled tractor used in agricultural operations with wide-cut agricultural implements for cultivating land. The machine is the main means of mechanizing work when using intensive and classical technologies for growing crops. The unit flexibly fits into the specific parameters of each field and has the necessary set of settings for all types of work.
In combination with agricultural implements of different purposes, the tractor with sufficient efficiency:
- cultivates the soil (plows, harrows, cultivates, etc.) on large fields of large agricultural holdings;
- tows multi-row planting units, green mass harvesting and harvesting machines;
- the parameters of the machine's chassis and agrotechnical clearance make it possible to loosen, weed, apply fertilizers, and carry out similar work without damaging the rows of plantings;
- forms and fills silo pits;
- transports large volumes of cargo for various purposes in conventional and dump trailers.
John Deere Company
The company is considered one of the oldest on the tractor market, founded in 1837. It all started with a small store in Illinois, where a man named John Deere decided to sell various equipment (ploughs, shovels, etc.). Many years later, namely in 1842, John Deere and his companion opened their own factory. The first products of the factory were seeders and cultivators, and only in 1912 were the first attempts to create agricultural machinery.
The first model was introduced in 1918, the range has increased significantly and now John Deere tractors have a model range of several dozen models produced in 27 countries. The buyer will find suitable equipment, ranging from universal tractors to powerful all-wheel drive vehicles.
Advantages and disadvantages
Of course, such a well-known brand has many advantages, which are proven by thousands of positive reviews and an excellent reputation. Among the main ones are:
- branded quality and reliability;
- plenty of available equipment;
- modern hydraulic system and powerful motors;
- all presented models fully fulfill their duties and are tested for a long time before release;
- low maintenance due to the excellent quality of parts.
Flaws
Although the equipment has won the favor of many customers, the John Deere brand has several disadvantages:
- modern models contain a lot of electronic equipment that requires a lot of knowledge for management and maintenance;
- some models are not suitable for Russian consumers due to the poor quality of domestic gasoline.

Features of units, components and mechanisms
1. Power plant for 4 working strokes, diesel unit PE 6068B with an in-line longitudinal block for 6 cylinders, equipped with a turbine air charging system. Cooled by liquid flow in a closed system. Direct fuel injection and removal of combustion products are provided by 4 valves on each cylinder.
2. Transmission. In the basic version of the tractor, a 16-speed automatic manual transmission was installed on the machine. A reliable device with easy and smooth manual gear shifting, providing speeds from 2 to 43 km/h. The box is equipped with an automatic mode selection function when the load on the tractor changes. As an option, the tractor was equipped with a hydrostatic-type gearbox operating in an automatic stepless switching mode - AutoPower.
3. The rear axle of the unit is driven, assembled in one housing with transmission units. The differential is controlled by an electro-hydraulic device.
4. Drive-type front steered axle. Torque is supplied to the front-wheel drive in all transmission gears in three modes:
- forced connection;
- automatic – when changing the parameters of the road surface;
- braking optimization – activated when both brake pedals are pressed.
5. Power take-off through the shaft at the rear of the tractor. Revolutions 540 and 1000 per minute.
6. Selecting the direction of the steering wheel. Hydrostatic amplifier with control of operation by a load sensor and regulation of flow parameters. The actuator is a power hydraulic cylinder. The steering column is infinitely adjustable in tilt and length.
7. Multi-disc brakes. They work separately on the rear wheels, installed on the shaft axis between the differential and the final drive of the side. Controlled by hydraulics, redundant through a mechanical drive.
8. The unit for canopy of agricultural equipment is mounted in the rear part of the frame. It has a four-link articulated device with gripping hooks. The hydraulic circuit of the canopy ensures the required position of the hinged mechanism, the operation of which is ensured by 4 pairs of hydraulic outlets.
9. The lift type of the towing coupling unit ensures aggregation with trailed implements.
10. The cabin is heat and sound insulated. Vibration protection, ventilation, air conditioning and heating units provide comfortable working conditions. Single-piece windshield and rear glass, 360° illumination of the working area allow you to visually monitor the operation of the tools used.

Last year, John Deere announced the appearance on the Ukrainian market of models with power up to 135 hp. pp., which at an affordable price are characterized by ease of operation and high reliability. And these tractors - series 6B - finally appeared on our fields.
Some users of John Deere equipment often said in their reviews that they would like to see a simple but durable machine. This is how the idea of creating an all-wheel drive tractor of the 6B series arose, especially for those agricultural firms that need a small machine to perform agricultural work with a heavy load. The designers took into account the basic wishes of the clients and tried to make sure that they did not have to pay for those functions that the farm could do without. At the same time, depending on individual preferences, everyone can choose a Standard or Premium package.
Despite the simplicity of the tractor design, the high quality of John Deere remains the same. This concerns not only performance, but also reliability, operator comfort, cost of ownership and design.
John Deere 6B Series tractors are equipped with reliable and fuel-efficient 95-horsepower PowerTech four-cylinder engines. pp., 115 l. With. and 135 l. pp., which work perfectly on Ukrainian diesel fuel. Tractors are designed to work with a variety of working equipment, including implements for tillage and sowing, forage harvesting units and specialized equipment. It can work in the field, in the pasture or in the yard. It is used for transportation and work with a front loader.
Although a manual transmission is used here, it is easy to handle. Fully synchronized gears ensure effortless shifting, so the 6B tractor will immediately feel as easy to drive as a car.
Taking into account the individual operating mode, you can choose one of four transmission options: 12 x 4 gears with a speed of 30 km/h or 24 x 8 gears with a two-speed electro-hydraulic transmission and a speed of 30 or 40 km/h.
Superior efficiency and performance are provided by a maintenance-free wet clutch, included in the Standard (6135B model only) and Premium packages. Liquid-cooled disc brakes with mechanical drive allow you to move safely even on slopes. Trailer air brakes are available as an optional feature.
It is possible to switch the standard 540/1000 PTO drive with 6/21 splines on and off from the operator's seat using the electro-hydraulic system (Premium package). With additional power take-off options (front power take-off, 8-spline power take-off for 95 hp), the 6B tractor offers even more flexibility.
The tractor is given more versatility by its hydraulic system with adjustable pressure and flow rate of up to 60 l/min. This allows the 6B tractor to work with almost any attachment. It uses a reliable hydraulic pump that maintains high performance of all attachments. Up to three selective control valves can be installed when purchasing the Premium package or additional features.
The new 6B tractor boasts a lifting capacity of up to 3170 kg, so you can safely not only mount heavy attachments, but also transport, for example, a fertilizer spreader loaded to the brim.
There is not much to say about the comfort of the cabin, because this is a John Deere tractor. The 6B tractor cab has everything needed to make the operator's work enjoyable and efficient. It is roomy, extremely comfortable and ergonomic, and has plenty of space to store food and drinks. The mechanical suspension seat with armrests ensures comfort even when driving on uneven surfaces. All controls are arranged ergonomically and are easily accessible.
An amazing feature of the John Deere 6B series tractors is that they can be serviced by farm operators right on site. Only, unlike old post-Soviet tractors, 6B tractors are much more reliable. The fact is that the machine consists of high-quality mechanical components, and possible sources of malfunction are reduced to a minimum from the very beginning.
Ease of maintenance is another strong point of the 6B series tractor. The unique modular design helps minimize the financial and time costs associated with replacing major components. In addition, it provides access to all regular service points without having to open the one-piece hood. In this way, all necessary operations are carried out easily and quickly, and mostly without tools. In any case, if something happens, John Deere dealers will always help, whose centers in Ukraine are located quite close to the user.
It turns out that those who say that John Deere is just complex and expensive equipment are wrong. With the introduction of the 6B, proven John Deere reliability and performance will be available to many.

John Deere 8430 discontinued in 2009. The price of tractors with operating hours starts from 3.7 million rubles. Analogues:

Series 8 tractors from Deere & Company are effective when cultivating large-area lands of large agro-industrial complexes - the unit is designed to service an area of 2 thousand hectares.
